Pasumpulari, a green dawn, is an awakening call to the people of Coimbatore on the importance of ensuring green environments in the city. Propelled by Siruthuli & RAAC,Pasumpulari is a year long Afforestation drive that observes the International Year of Forests by a massive relay of planting trees throughout 2011.

Over 100 green guardians - volunteers from Siruthuli & RAAC will spearhead this drive, enlisting volunteers comprising Green Wardens, Green Hands and Green Thumbs, each of whom will be responsible for a thousand trees.
The drive will be hallmarked by every Sunday of the year being observed as 'Awakening Day' on or before which day in that week a total of 2011 trees will be planted through the efforts of green groups.
In addition, one day in every month will highlight the 'goodness of green' to the public by public meetings, seminars and talks on green environments by experts from the field.
